As president of Northwest Management, Inc., Vincent Corraos responsibilities include corporate administration, coordination of new business development, proposal presentation, and contract preparation and negotiation.
Mr. Corrao has provided forest management services to forest industry in the areas of financial business planning, log marketing, expert witness, and negotiations. He has been involved in many new business developments including Land Acquisition, Appraisal and Exchanges on multiple transactions of timber land, export log yard operations, and cut stock manufacturing.
Mr. Corrao is a certified RAB (Registrar Accreditation Bureau), EMS (Environmental Management System) Lead Auditor for the ISO-14001, SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) and international environmental auditing protocols. Mr. Corrao has conducted Environmental Audits throughout the United States which include evaluating federal, state, tribal, and corporate laws and rules affecting forest practices.
Mr. Corrao received recognition from the Idaho Governor's office for the development of the document "Breaking the Gridlock", Federal Land Pilot Projects in Idaho. This document completed for the Federal Lands Task Force Working Group looked closely at the federal methods of managing public lands specifically the Forest Service and developed alternative methods within the federal guidelines to manage federal lands (December 2000).
Mr. Corrao has provided natural resource
services to both the Nez Perce Tribe of Idaho and the Makah Tribe
in western Washington. These services involved participation on an
interdisciplinary team made up of wildlife, fisheries, cultural, water,
silviculture and harvest interests to decide on management alternatives.
Mr. Corrao participated on an interdisciplinary team which included American
and Russian resource professionals to prepare the Vanino Forest Management
Plan for the Khabarovsk Krai in Russia. This work included a feasibility
study and analysis to implement the management activities on the forest.
Harvesting methods and alternatives for meeting silvicultural and financial
goals were evaluated using both the Russian and American guidelines for
harvest systems.
